So it's all come down to this. For the third season in a row, we're closing out the Red Bull Global Rallycross season with a round in Las Vegas during SEMA week. Las Vegas has been the host to some of our finest moments, from Ken Block's #aintcare moment with the cockpit on fire, to Brian Deegan's jump from the back row to the podium, to Block's redemption with a win in last season's finale.
But that all pales in comparison to what we've got in store this year.
The race will feature a four-way title battle between Block, ex-Formula 1 stars Nelson Piquet Jr. and Scott Speed, and defending GRC Lites champion/current Supercar points leader Joni Wiman. This year's venue will be The LINQ Promenade, with a brand-new course layout sitting at the base of the High Roller, the world's tallest observation wheel.
Many of the biggest stars in rallycross will be competing, including Deegan, two-time series champion Tanner Foust, two-time 2014 winner Rhys Millen, and Bucky Lasek, one of only two people in history to win X Games medals in both motorized and non-motorized events. The future stars of GRC Lites will also be competing, led by newly crowned series champion Mitchell DeJong.
Red Bull Global Rallycross Las Vegas at The LINQ will take place on Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5. If you're in town for SEMA, tickets are available on site as well; take the monorail to Flamingo/Caesars Palace station from the show. Most events take place after the show closes, and ticket discounts are available for those with SEMA credentials by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
